"Dado - 20th - 1973 - Drypoint "rhinoceros 1" Hc - 75 Copies"
Lithograph 1973 - Drypoint on copper by the Yugoslav artist Dado 1933-2010. Dado (Miodrag Đurić, 1933-2010) was born in Montenegro and moved to Paris in 1956. Quickly recognized for his abundant graphic universe, he created visions populated by hybrid characters and animals, where expressive force dominates. Supported by the Jeanne Bucher gallery, he exhibited in the 1960s in Paris and internationally, notably at Documenta in Kassel, MoMA in New York and the Smithsonian Institution. His works are featured in the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and numerous public collections. Based in Hérouval, Normandy, he transformed an old mill into a labyrinthine studio, producing paintings, drawings and monumental prints. The Centre Pompidou is dedicating a retrospective to him, confirming his influence. His art invites the viewer to experience the power of his imagination and the depth of his inner world, rather than simply admiring it.
