Luc Peire (1916-1994) – “Oléron”, 1988Original lithograph on Arches paper, proof, signed and justified in pencil. Published by Michèle Broutta, printed by the Felt workshop, limited edition of 40 copies. Peire, Belgian painter and engraver, first began with Expressionism, then developed a personal style based on verticality, formal simplification and the search for light and space. His work became more refined over the years, seeking a spiritual elevation through sober compositions, vertical lines as symbols of balance. An internationally recognized work, he belongs to those post-war abstraction artists whose visual language is very identifiable, powerful in its simplicity.
