JAPAN - Edo period (1603 - 1868). Complete samurai armor. KABUTO (helmet) in wrought iron with 62 lamellas. THEHEN NO ANA (opening at the top) in gilded copper with four concentric steps. SHIKORO (neck cover) with four steps in brown lacquered iron and blue silk braiding. MABI SA SHI (the visor) in brown lacquered wrought iron, the border highlighted with a copper net. FUKIGAESHI (the fins) in brown lacquered iron decorated with a clan mon (Naito II?). MAETATE in carved and lacquered wood depicting deer antlers, it is topped with a copper disc. MEMPO (samurai half-mask) in brown lacquered wrought iron (slight accidents), pronounced chin, mobile nose, pierced nostrils, white horsehair mustache, lips outlined in cinnabar red, visible teeth with very pronounced canines, sweat hole under the chin, red lacquered interior. YODARE-KAKE (gorget) with four degrees in black lacquered wrought iron and blue silk braiding. DO (breastplate) in brown lacquered wrought iron, it is decorated in maki-e with a coiled dragon, signature on the inside YOKISHITA MASATADA, the watagamis decorated with a clan mon. SODE (shoulder guards) with six degrees in brown lacquered metal and blue silk braiding. KOTE (arm guards) in chainmail and brown lacquered iron plates decorated with a clan mon (Mizuno or Fukushima). KUSAZURI (skirt) and HAIDATE (cuissards) with five rows of brown lacquer and blue silk braiding. SUNEATE (greaves) in lacquered iron plates and chainmail. Sold with a double GUSOKU BITSU (carrying cases) with its presentation stand. Dimensions of the armor in the seated position: 142 x 56 x 46 cm. Additional photos and details on request.
