Object description :

"Majolica Dish, Italy, 17th – 18th Century"
Majolica dish with mythological decoration depicting a seated Jupiter, accompanied by female deities and surrounded by putti. The eagle, an attribute of Jupiter, and the peacock, associated with Juno, confirm the ancient iconography. The border decorated with floral garlands, cherubs, and grotesque motifs follows the tradition of Italian productions inspired by the Urbino Renaissance.
