Stoneware ball lamp by Pierre Digan and Janet Stedman, La Borne, circa 1970, signed with Digan's stamp.

Pierre Digan (1924-2019) is often considered one of the pioneers of the pottery renaissance in La Borne. Trained in the 1950s, he helped revitalize the place by setting up his studio there. His stoneware creations, often refined and inspired by nature, are distinguished by their organic forms and subtle glazes. Digan also played a key role in passing on his expertise, training many ceramists who have perpetuated the La Borne tradition.
