Elegant portrait of a man from the first part of the 19th century, more precisely Louis Philippe in a frock coat and tie collar, seen from the bust on a brown background, oil on a beautiful mahogany panel presented in a charming period gilt-beaded molded frame in gilt wood mounted with bars (period). Obviously a man of condition with an austere appearance, a sustained and precisely painted gaze. It is no less decorative and reveals a typical face with a high frond, well-executed expressive features, I think a work faithful to the detailed model and of a beautiful execution. The decorative ensemble is in good condition, circa 1840
