Portrait of a woman in a white dress and pearl necklace. Porcelain painting signed lower right: C(lémenc)ce Turgan 1802-1854. Probably from the Royal Sèvres Manufactory, circa 1840. In its rectangular gilt bronze frame surmounted by a laurel wreath, with an easel stand on the back. Frame dimensions: 23.5 x 15 cm. Porcelain plaque dimensions: 12.5 x 10.5 cm. Provenance: Clémence Naigeon Turgan (1802-1854) was a student of Marie Victoire Jaquotot (1772-1855), a renowned porcelain painter and miniaturist. The daughter of the curator of the Luxembourg Museum, Clémence Turgan worked as a figure painter at the Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory between 1830 and 1852.
