Officer's Bicorn 1st Light Infantry Regiment Known As 1st Leger
Officer's bicorne in its original box.
This bicorne can be dated from the end of the Consulate or the beginning of the 1st Empire.
The 1st regiment was formed on September 23, 1803.
The cockade is the regulatory model of the period. This bicorne is therefore from the period 1803 to 1806 before the adoption of the Shako.
It is perhaps thanks to this that this headdress has reached us in an exceptional condition, its conservation in its box also contributed to this quality.
We can also read on the box a name which perhaps corresponds to its owner: Mr GARIEL
This regiment is in the Boulogne camps and will participate in the victorious campaign of 1805 -1806
