Pair Of Rare 19th Century Italian Sgabelli.

Description:
Chiseled gilt bronze, leather wood.

These elegant sgabelli are made of a wooden core dressed with bronze plates, moldings, feet, and decorative elements. The seat is topped with a leather pad branded with a cold iron with a coat of arms.
The flat sides are decorated with very detailed arabesques, the cornice edge of the seat is decorated with a frieze of flowers and fruits and lion muzzles in spandrels. Rams' heads at the top of the corners balance the volume of these small pieces of furniture with the overhang of the feet. The seat dressed in leather held by four nails is therefore marked with a coat of arms frame.
The central coat of arms bore the arms in painted polychrome, almost total wear of this painted coat of arms forced us to remove the remains of paint.
These pieces of furniture can perfectly serve as a base for light fixtures, simply prepare a molded wooden pad to the measurements of the base of the light fixture, leather color protecting the leather itself (photo). The seat is removable.

Condition:
Excellent, gold gilding completely redone. Leather without accident apart from wear and tear.
