Born in 1947 in Lyon. Lives and works in Lyon. Attended the Lyon School of Fine Arts (Chancrin Class). Alain Chevrette has exhibited in Lyon and the Rhône-Alpes region since the age of thirty, as well as in Paris, Nice, Strasbourg and Metz. He is one of the major artists of current Lyon painting. He is regularly represented in salons, contemporary art events and museums: Paul Dini in Villefranche sur Saône, Mâcon and Nice. His beginnings were influenced by the Lyon writing of Bonnard, but with a sense of drama expressed in assertive chiaroscuro. He was a long-time loyalist at the Galerie St Georges (1977 – 1985) and at the Salon du Sud-Est in Lyon. Among those who always believed in him was the collector Paul Dini, even though he had a completely different profession for a living.
