Fernand Van Den Bussche was born in 1892 in Lille where he was a student at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts.
Mobilized in 1914, he joined his family after the war who had taken refuge in Marseille.
Settled in Sausset les Pins, then in Marseille, he painted for more than 50 years with a knife, his favorite subjects being seascapes, Provençal landscapes and bouquets.
