"Anthropomorphic Pitcher. "
This beautiful stoneware pitcher, also called "Marquis Pitcher", evokes the production of Sauxemesnil or Saussemesnil in the Manche region. Our pitcher represents a bearded nobleman wearing a tricorn hat that serves as a spout, wearing a long jacket and on the front an ornament that evokes a jabot shirt, his arms are rounded and detached from the body, his shoulders are adorned with epaulettes, his belly is rounded. It bears on the back a mark that we have difficulty deciphering but which could be "Neau". Period 20th century. Height 20 cm.
