Embossed Bruges Lace Border - Bobbin-made - Cream Color - Late 19th Century

Superb flounce in relief Bruges lace (late 19th century) in cream color. Although its close cousin, relief Brussels lace, is similar, the two have characteristics that clearly differentiate them. Decorated with ribbed leaves and large flowers with contours surrounded by a thick thread (string thread), florets and sprigs with small leaves on a background of picoted bars. Dense canvas. Piece in excellent condition along its entire length, it has never been mounted.
