Louis XVI fireplace trumeau. Painted canvas depicting a delightful "gallant scene", oil on canvas set in a beautiful carved and gilded wooden frame decorated with rows of pearls. The mercury mirror is original, as is the back panel. A strip of painted wood separates the painting from the mirror. It was located above a fireplace and had never been restored. It passed through the hands of professionals for the canvas and gilding. Provenance: private mansion in Toulouse. 18th century period.
