Large portrait of a young woman seated by Augustin Carrera and dated 1926, Augustin Carrera is a painter born in 1878 in Madrid of French parents, he died in 1952. He is a painter in the Fauvism movement and very influenced by Cezanne. He was a student of Léon Bonnat and Henri Martin at the Beaux Arts in Paris. We can also note a public commission in 1924, the ceiling of the Marseille opera and his presence in museums, such as the Augustinian Museum in Toulouse and the Cantini Museum in Marseille.
