"Portrait Of A Maltese Dog By Wilhelm Richter (austrian 1824-1892)"
This magnificent portrait of a Maltese dog was painted in 1863 by the famous Austrian portrait, animal, and genre painter Wilhelm Richter (1824 - Vienna - 1892), who lived and worked in Vienna in the 19th century. He was a student of Thomas Ender and Leopold Kupelwieser at the Vienna Academy. His works are exhibited in various museums and private collections. In the 1840s and 1850s, he traveled to Italy. From 1870, he worked at Gödöllö (Queen Elizabeth II's castle) and painted various racehorses and their owners.
