"Brussels 1762, Louis XV Caster , Solid Silver, Ferdinand Millé"
Very beautiful Louis X period caster in solid silver. It bears four hallmarks: the head of Saint-Michel and the Brabant lion for the city of Brussels, the year 62 for 1762 and then a three-leaf clover, the master silversmith hallmark of Ferdinand Millé. This silversmith was used to making rather heavy objects in cast silver. He is without a doubt the master Brussels silversmith of his time. This sugar bowl, like the more than forty objects of his hand, preserved in the national museums and church treasuries of the Belgian capital, testifies to this great know-how.
