Turkmenistan wool kurk rug, wool warp and weft, circa 1950. Very good condition. Fine rug.

This dozar* format Yomouth is a great timeless classic decorated with rows of Göl, richly framed by a multitude of borders. Note: there are Pakistani rugs (Karachi) that copied this pattern in the 80s-90s. The warp and weft were made of cotton and the wool for the 'velour' (surface of the rug) came from Australia or New Zealand.
*Dozar: Persian unit of measurement of 106 cm. Twice the zar = dozar.
