"Claude Galle Candlesticks Flambeaux Fontainebleau Model Gilt Bronze XIX Empire"
Attributed to Claude GALLE and his workshop Pair of candlesticks Bronze with double brown and gilded patina Empire period, circa 1810 Very interesting pair of candlesticks made of bronze with double blackened and gilded patina. The pair rests on a circular base decorated with gadroons, the shaft with sides, the base of the Binet gadrooned. A model from Fontainebleau: Our pair of candlesticks is a known model delivered by Claude Galle and his workshop in 1806 to the Château de Fontainebleau. There are variants, including ours, which has a circular base and not with sides. We also find a quality of casting and chiseling, deep and detailed characteristic of the beautiful productions of bronziers under the Empire. This is illustrated in particular by the number of elements cast separately (the more there are, the better it is), our pair having 9. Condition report: Some wear to the gilding, very good general condition Careful shipping
