Study of a young woman in a dress Albert François Larteau, French painter, was born in Nancy on July 7, 1870 and died in the 4th arrondissement of Paris on July 10, 1949. Student of Benjamin-Constant and Gustave Moreau. He continued his career as a painter as a drawing and painting teacher and then became inspector of drawing instruction for the city of Paris. He was a student at the municipal school of painting and drawing in Nancy[6] and exhibited at the Salon des Artistes from the age of 14[7]. Pensioned by the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle, he continued his training in Paris. Enrolled at the Académie Julian, Jules Lefebvre, who had developed his taste for portraiture, presented him in February and July 1889 for the entrance exam for the École nationale des beaux-arts in Paris. He entered the painting section in 1890 with Benjamin-Constant as his teacher. He was accepted into the antique drawing competition in 1891 with distinction. He was admitted to Gustave Moreau's studio in January 1893. From 1889, his paintings and portraits, often inspired by military life, were exhibited at the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français, of which he became a member in 1902. Large drawing measuring 30.4 x 48.4 cm presented in an old Marie-Louise measuring 37 x 54.2 cm. Bears the inscriptions at the bottom right: "Souvenir de Bourges | July 3, 1915 | A Larteau". This drawing was produced during one of the artist's leaves, mobilized during the First World War from 1914 to 1919.
