"Half-moon Mahogany Console Table With Triple Top, Late 18th Century, "
Half-moon table with triple top in Cuban mahogany, circa 1790, second half of the 18th century, Paris. It has its half-moon top for console presentation and opens onto a mahogany top for the second and a game top in green felt. This style of table is a classic of the Louis XVI style. The mahogany burl veneered belt is decorated with brass frames. It rests on five tapered legs with brass-trimmed fluting and finished with casters. The fifth leg is attached to a drawer that opens to serve as a support once the flap is unfolded. Large model, serving as a console table, dining room and game table. The belt is in mahogany and decorated with copper and brass either by a plaque or fillet decoration. Furniture highly prized at the end of the 18th century both for its quality of execution and for its practical and modern aspect for the time. Rather rare triple-tray model. Very good condition, restored in our workshop. H x W x D = 77 x 112 x 55 cm
