Venetian Blown Glass Vase, Engraved And Iridescent
Venetian iridescent blown glass vase/bottle, with flaring body on foot, two small handles to the neck, and engraved bands of foliate and dotted motifs. Blue threads highlight rim and foot, with applied blue prunts around the lower body. The surface shows a luminous iridescence, typical of Murano production from the late 19th – early 20th century.
Complete with its polychrome glass stopper in the form of a pear, also iridescent, with a small chip to the leaf (see photos).
Size: overall height 23 cm, diameter approx. 11 cm.
A fine example of Murano’s refined craftsmanship, combining thin glassblowing, engraving and colorful applications.
