Saint John with a halo, seated on a low-backed chair, his left arm resting on a lectern, holds in his right hand a quill with which he writes his gospel illustrated by a phylactery; he is flanked on his right by the eagle, his symbol. The wormholes have been filled with wax. France. Renaissance style. Early seventeenth century.
