Large Limoges Enamel Candlestick
Rare large polychrome painted enamel candlestick from Limoges, Renaissance style. Colored enamel decoration on a black enamel and gilt background. Hollow base, baluster shaft, and wide-rimmed vase-shaped spout. The base and shaft feature a circumferential depiction of putti riding mythical sea creatures. Between the two, a ribbon decoration with vases and fruit festoons.
