An unusual Italian (Sicily (?)) walnut marionette painted in the style of "Opera dei Pupi", decorated with lace and embroidery. 99 cm high. Very good condition. Circa 1800. The brown velvet may be later. Mounted on a modern custom-made iron stand. Provenance: Collection of François Van Hove, Brussels.
