"Germany 19th Century: Silver Strawberry Scoop And Sauce Spoon"
800 silver. Germany, late 19th century. Pair of dessert cutlery consisting of a strawberry server and a sauce spoon. The rich ornamentation and fine chiseling make these cutlery pieces a choice piece. The crescent moon and crown hallmark was created by the federal law of July 16, 1884 and was put into service on January 1, 1888. The German Empire imposes it on silver works with a fineness greater than 800 thousandths (tolerance 5 thousandths). The manufacturer's hallmark and the indication of the fineness in figures must be affixed next to this official hallmark, which is the case on these 2 pieces of cutlery. Unfortunately, we have not been able to decipher the silversmith (MF?). Net weight 118 g
