Small Oba face mask in handcrafted bronze, Bamoun, Cameroon, Africa. Vintage mid-20th century, or slightly earlier. Decorative purpose or used during commemorative ceremonies and tributes. The object is decorated with a suspension ring molded into the headdress. Irregular back and natural patina revealing slight traces of oxidation, a guarantee of artisanal work. The face represented, in a traditional style, displays a serene expression, large, slightly globular eyes, a slightly smiling mouth. As well as a fan-shaped ridged beard, a symbol of dignity. He wears a headdress, or crown, bristling with spikes. Very pretty little object that will delight lovers of African art. 16 cm high, 10 cm wide and 4 to 5 cm thick depending on the curvature. Very good condition, natural use and patina, small holes particularly in the headdress, due to the manufacturing technique, original and proof of its authenticity. Approximately 700gr.
