Solid Silver Basket – Paulino Goldsmiths (salamanca, Spain) – 414 G
Solid silver basket with exceptional workmanship. The entire wide rim is openwork in the Renaissance style, decorated with medallions with mythological engravings, bouquets, garlands and flower baskets. Its manufacture seems to have used both the burin technique and that of acid engraving, demonstrating remarkable technical mastery. It is a true jewel of Salamanca goldsmithing, made in the workshops of the famous Paulino goldsmith, which had shops in Madrid and in the Plaza Mayor of Salamanca. At the bottom of the basket is a smooth silver support, where the star as a hallmark of solid silver, the hallmark of the workshop as well as the name Paulino are clearly visible. The star-shaped hallmark has been officially recognized in Spain as a mark of solid silver since 1934. Dimensions: Diameter: 35 cm Height: 6 cm
