"Rare Art Nouveau Vase Signed Daum Nancy & Louis Majorelle – Circa 1900"
Elegant multi-layered glass vase with red inclusions, enhanced by a finely crafted wrought iron frame with naturalistic motifs (fruit clusters and stylized foliage). The vase bears a double signature engraved at the tip under the base: Daum Nancy, famous crystal maker of the Nancy School. Louis Majorelle, master cabinetmaker and iconic designer of Art Nouveau. Dimensions: height 25 cm, diameter 20 cm, 11 ca diameter at the base. Excellent condition. This original piece bears witness to the collaboration between two major figures of Art Nouveau and constitutes a collector's item of great historical and artistic value. Made between 1900 and 1910, it combines artistic glassware signed Daum, blown and acid-etched, with a wrought iron frame fashioned in the Majorelle workshops. The glass is designed using a complex process combining superposition of layers, inclusions of vitrifiable powders and acid finishes, offering a rendering that is both luminous and organic. The ironwork, inspired by the plant world, is entirely forged by hand and perfectly matches the shapes of the glass, without the use of modern mechanical fixings. Each piece was unique, custom-designed in a spirit of decorative unity.
