Biography – Giacomo Sinopoli
Giacomo Sinopoli is an Italian designer active in the 1970s, known for his collaborations with the Roman house Liwan’s. Part of the modernist design movement, his work combines geometric rigor with refined materials. His creations—particularly jewelry boxes and decorative objects—stand out for their use of chrome-plated metal, colored glass, and meticulous detailing. Today, his pieces are sought after for their sober and timeless aesthetic, emblematic of Italian design from this period.
Liwan’s – Rome
Liwan’s was a design and publishing house of decorative objects established in Rome during the 1960s–1970s. Specializing in modernist pieces with clean lines, it frequently used brushed metal, brass, and glass. Collaborations with Italian designers such as Giacomo Sinopoli resulted in a limited series of functional yet refined objects. Although little documented, Liwan’s is now regaining interest among collectors of Italian mid-century design.
