JEAN LUCE for Villeroy & Boch Luxembourg, Art Deco ceramic vase with handles, circa 1930.
Vase in perfect condition. Jean Luce (1895–1964), initially a goldsmith, became a designer of refined ceramics in the 1920s, influenced by the Art Deco aesthetic. Favoring pure forms and sober geometric decorations, he collaborated in the 1930s with Villeroy & Boch Luxembourg. Through this factory, he produced pieces in fine earthenware and porcelain, combining elegance and quality industrial production. His work reflects the ideal of blending art and industry, which was prominent at the time.
