19.2-carat gold, weight 76 g
Struck with Portuguese guarantee marks (profile head in oval)
Elegant rectangular snuff box with continuous hinge, crafted entirely in high-grade gold. The lid is decorated with fine burin engraving depicting a lively urban scene with monumental buildings, a bridge, and figures, framed by rocaille-style scrolls and flowers.
The reverse features guilloché engraving with a radiating diamond pattern, enclosed within a similar ornamental border. The sides bear a delicate geometric engine-turned motif, while the inner rim of the lid is enriched with an engraved floral garland.
The highly polished interior attests to the exceptional workmanship of 19th-century Portuguese goldsmithing. Hallmarks confirm the high gold standard (19.2 carats) and Portuguese origin.
