A tugra consists of four basic elements: sere, beyze, tuğ, and hançer. These elements are common to all tugras throughout their history. In the early Ottoman era, Turkish embroidery featured traditional pomegranates and an eclectic range of floral motifs. With the decline of the Ottoman Empire, the fusion of Turkish and European arts and embroidery became evident. Thanks to the rise of trade and the sharing of textiles, Turkish embroidery slowly evolved.
