Paris, 1809-1819 – Weight: 370 g – Fineness: 950 ‰Refined solid silver teapot, hallmarked with the first fineness (950 ‰) by the Paris guarantee office for the period 1809-1819. Work of Jean-Baptiste-Claude Odiot, illustrious master silversmith and official supplier to the imperial family, considered the most eminent representative of his dynasty. Engraved with a wedding coat of arms surmounted by a crown, attributed to the wife of the Jehannot family of Huriel de Bartillat, Marquis of Huriel and Bartillat. The shield “GJ”, repeated twice, confirms this attribution and gives the piece a noble provenance. After serving the Empire, Odiot continued his career under the Restoration, working for the greatest courts of Europe.
