"I have always been aware of man as part of the mineral universe. Since my first works in clay in 1968, I have approached the material as a "field of possibilities", a support for experimentation and reflection. I do not favor the concept or the material either: each contributes to setting something in motion that I call "energies". The years of working with materials that a layman might judge as inert have led me to the idea of constant movement in the universe: nothing is fixed. Ceramics and glasses are composed of minerals that are mixed and melted in different ways depending on what we want to do or try to do with them. The constant has become for me a work on mineral fusions that comes before a work on shapes, colors or their installations in particular spaces. We create mini earthquakes or mini volcanoes… I could not resist, out of curiosity and passion, setting off on various occasions to encounter the mineral and geological worlds. I like deserts because they show us the mineral experience over time; they make me understand what I am trying to do."
