Pierre Caluze's practice in the criminal registry at the beginning of the 17th century is well known from archival sources: - On April 29, 1623, he had Gilles Hebert and his wife arrested for witchcraft, imprisoned in the Conciergerie. - On June 22, 1627, he had François de Montmorency and François de Rosmadecq arrested, the latter having fled after a duel in Place Royale and the death of the Marquis de Bussy d'Amboise.
