Rosewood and rosewood marquetry chiffonniere table opening with three drawers, the first forming a writing desk. Elegant canted base, veneered with rosewood and rosewood on both interior sides. Marble top called "peach blossoms". Center table curved on both sides. Note the absence of a lock on the bottom drawer. Very good general condition. Restored varnish. Paris, Louis XV period. Stamped Jean Lapie: Parisian cabinetmaker. Born in 1734. Established rue de Charenton. Brother of Nicolas Alexandre Lapie. Ceased his activity in 1791.
