The capital is inspired by the Corinthian order, with richly carved volutes and floral details, all gilt in gold leaf. A small zoomorphic element, vaguely resembling a stylized eagle’s head, protrudes from the center of the capital, adding a distinctive decorative accent.
Each column is topped with a double spherical finial: a larger alabaster sphere surmounted by a smaller giltwood one. The design suggests a decorative use as side pieces, possibly intended to flank a mantel clock or to serve as stands for small lamps or ornamental urns.
