Giltwood Floor Lamp Made From A Processional Candlestick – Italy, Early 20th Century

Charming floor lamp, electrified and made from an antique giltwood processional candlestick, probably of Italian origin and dating from the early 20th century.

The carved wooden shaft features spiral fluting and acanthus leaf motifs, resting on a round base carved with stylized palmettes. The gold finish has a lovely antique patina, with light signs of age. The lamp has been converted for electricity, with functioning wiring and a foot switch.

The shade, dome-shaped, is covered in warm-toned fabric and bordered with finely worked vintage lace, perfectly matching the tones of the gilding.
