INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD Brass mount. Single-arm guard decorated with the glittering spindle of Jupiter. Oval-shaped handle decorated with the uncrowned imperial eagle resting on a trophy of 6 foot troop flags with the eagle. Cap decorated with an imperial eagle with outstretched wings. Folding counter-handle. Brass filigree horn knuckle. Straight, two-sided blade, length 81cm. Good condition, without scabbard. France. Circa 1848-1852. Presidency of Louis Napoleon Bonaparte.
