Beautiful and rare pair of bronze FLAMBEAUX with cylindrical sockets, baluster shafts and rings, central bowl bobeches with relief decoration of stylized human masks, and hexagonal ogee bases. The three elements are held by screwing the base of the shaft onto the foot.
Height: 22 cm.
SWEDEN or NETHERLANDS, very early 17th century

Solid cast iron in good condition. The initial pointed decoration composed of shells and hearts has been worn by successive cleanings; the overly worn screws no longer fulfilling their function have been skillfully replaced by my restorer. An original repair of a cast iron defect on one of the balusters is noted and visible on one of the photos, as well as a small lack of metal under the lower molding of the socket.
