Animated Landscape By Ed Doigneau

Animated landscape of mules and people near a river, oil on panel by Ed Doigneau, painting where we find the very particular know-how of this painter, the capture of light, notably here in the dress of the mules as well as in the foliage of the trees. Ed Doigneau was born in Nemours (Seine-et-Marne) on September 27, 1865, from a bourgeois family. Initially intended for a military career via the École Polytechnique (class of 1885), he abandoned this path in 1900 to devote himself to painting. He was a student of the painters Jules Lefebvre and Tony Robert-Fleury at the Académie Julian in Paris. He is present in many provincial and Paris museums. ˋOil on wood signed lower right, note a small lack on the frame in the upper left corner.
