Large nude of a sleeping woman, oil on canvas signed lower left Barat Levroux, beautiful rendering of the skin tone, thick and nervous brushstroke in warm tones. Renowned students: he studied with Jean-Paul Laurens, Léon Bonnat, then at the Académie Julian. He is often described as a naturalist or post-impressionist painter, with an attentive eye to light, textures and moments of daily life. Present in museums: Young Girl with Silk Stockings (1927), oil on canvas (72.7 × 61.7 cm), acquired by the State in 1931 (Musée national d'art moderne). Mediterranean (circa 1944), monumental oil on canvas (105 × 130 cm), also a State purchase in 1946, Young Girl with Silk Stockings and Mediterranean are kept at the Centre Pompidou, highlighting national recognition.
