Large nude of a sleeping woman, oil on canvas signed lower left Barat Levroux, beautiful rendering of the skin tone, thick and nervous brushstroke in warm tones. Renowned students: he studied with Jean-Paul Laurens, Léon Bonnat, then at the Académie Julian. He is often described as a naturalist or post-impressionist painter, with an attentive eye to light, textures and moments of daily life.
