Description:
An elegant 19th-century Venetian school portrait depicting a lady in oriental garments, signed by Natale Schiavoni, a painter renowned for his refined depiction of female faces and the sensual yet composed atmospheres of his portraits. The figure emerges softly from a dark background, highlighted by a warm light that gently touches the skin and the luxurious fabrics of the cloak and turban, in an exotic-orientalist style typical of 19th-century European painting.

The subject's contemplative gaze and composed posture evoke the neoclassical aesthetic still prevalent in the early 1800s. The hands, depicted with remarkable anatomical precision, reflect the artist's technical skill. Natale Schiavoni was one of the most esteemed Italian portraitists of the 19th century. Born in Chioggia, he trained in Venice and later worked in Milan, Vienna, and again in Venice, where he was appointed official painter to the Austrian court.
