"Old Stone Window Frame, Louis XIV - 17th C"
Fenestron in Saint Cyr au Mont d'Or stone*, cut and laid, from the 17th century in perfect condition, from a commune bordering Lyon. Its frame, with a cut and damped, rests on a trapezoidal support projecting from the wall by 15 cm. Two original metal hinges are sealed to receive a shutter that could be secured using an iron bar positioned in the recesses cut into the interior frames, see our last two photos. The depth of the jambs and lintel is 43 cm. The dimensions at the exterior frames are 87 cm high and 67.5 cm wide. The exterior dimensions of the window frame to be provided are 89 cm high and 74 cm wide, to fit into the rebates. * Stone with inclusions of gryphaea, mother-of-pearl color (mollusc close to the oyster which lived from the Upper Triassic to the Cretaceous, −237 to −65 million years ago).
