"Entomological Collection From The End Of The 19th Century"
Beautiful entomological composition comprising three antique frames in blackened molded wood, each protected by original curved glass. This collection presents a beautiful set of exotic and European butterflies, including: Urania leilus (South America). Papilio garamas known as Macaon de Schaus. Morpho menelaus, with wings of an intense metallic blue. Archaeoprepona demophon, with turquoise and black hues. Papilio helenus, nicknamed Helen of Pitman, native to Asia. The specimens are delicately arranged on a background of putty-colored moiré fabric, bringing a beautiful contrast to the whole. Beautiful work from the end of the 19th century, probably produced in the context of a naturalist study or for a cabinet of curiosities presentation. Provenance: Château du Maine-et-Loire. Dimensions: Large model: height 41 cm, width 33.5 cm. Two small models: height 33 cm, width 27.5 cm. Good general condition. International delivery adapted.
