Biography Pierre Vitali was born into a family of Corsican wine merchants from Nebbio who came to settle in the working-class district of Vauban (Marseille). Alongside of his childhood friend Gérald Neveu and the poet Jean Malrieu, he participated in 1950 in the creation of the magazine Action poétique.
