JAPAN - Edo period (1603 - 1868). Full samurai armor. KABUTO in brown and gold lacquered metal. SHIKORO (neck guard) with four levels in shiny brown lacquered metal and white silk braid. MABI SA SHI (visor) in shiny brown lacquered metal. FUKIGAESHI (fins), small in shiny brown lacquered metal. WAKIDATE featuring two large golden horns and MAEDATE circular also gilded. HAMPO (samurai half-mask) in red lacquered metal, pronounced chin, hollow cheeks. YODARE-KAKE (gorget) with five levels in shiny brown lacquered metal and white silk braid. DO (breastplate) with six lamellas in wrought iron and white silk braid, it is decorated with a radiant pattern with eight branches. KOTE (arm guards) in chainmail (oxidation), iron plates and mail. KUSAZURI (skirt) and HAIDATE (cuissards) with five rows in glossy black lacquer and white silk braiding. SUNEATE (greaves) in gilded iron plates, chain, fabric, leather and blue silk. GUNBAI (command fan) in stamped and gilded copper decorated with foliage scrolls on a nanako background. Additional photos and details on request.
