Imposing bronze sculpture depicting the Welshman Ambiorix, resting on a rectangular base in blue stone, green / brown patina. Ambiorix : national hero of Belgium who fought against the Romans.
A very expressive bronze sculpture , carried by the same nationalist and romantic-historical movement as that which affected Vercingetorix for the French.   
Signed on the buckle "Hippolyte Le Roy Statuary Ghent).
