Original ink and watercolor depicting a bar scene, unsigned, titled “French as we speak it” in the upper margin and captioned “- Here, old man, it’s easy: when you want coffee, you ask for juice, wine is pinard and for brandy, it’s gnole that you have to say” in the lower margin.

History: This drawing appeared in No. 182, page 837, of La Baïonnette on December 26, 1918, with the signature "Pierre Falké 1918" at the bottom right, and bearing the title "L'heure de l'apéro" (see last photo, document taken from Gallica, it will not be provided with the work).
Provenance: Collection Charles Malexis (1879-1959), Director of La Baïonnette and one of the founders of the Salon de l'Araignée.
